It's just over a month away! The Maine Equine Super Showdeo is coming to the Topsham Fairgrounds for its second year.
Ames True Valley Hardware & Supply has signed on again as major sponsor and many Maine clubs will have a presence there over the July 6-8 weekend.
"There's a lot more going on and a lot in the works," compared to last year, said founder Harry Lewis.
Ellis River Riders, the Maine Cowboy Mounted Shooters, the barrel racing clubs (Maine Barrel Racing Association and the National Barrel Horse Association) are just a few of the participating clubs. Admission is free Friday when several clubs and individuals will offer clinics. Some events are still in the planning stage. Sherrye Johnson Trafton will offer a clinic then, as will the Mounted Shooters.
Saturday, said Lewis, will be jam-packed with events, with trail trials and pleasure shows among them. CLICK HERE for more info. Terry McClare may offer a clinic Sunday, according to Lewis.
It's a great chance for folks to check out Maine clubs and for clubs to promote their offerings. As Lewis told me: "My goal was to create a good opportunity for clubs to take advantage of...I think we're doing pretty well."
