Drought in Three Snapshots
Compared to other states, Iowa hasn’t had it too awfully bad.
But it’s been nearly a month without rain and the past 10 days have had temperatures hovering around 100 degrees. To say farmers are worried would be understating.
This Mainer is spending time in air-conditioned rooms for the first time in her life.
Here is a small representation of the conditions: Top photo is a nearby stream in May. Second photo is the same stream in June. Bottom photo is the same stream today.
Sorry girls, no mid-ride drink any time soon!
