Sal is so kind and gentle with such sweet patience! Recently I was giving a pony ride to a friend who hadn't been around horses and her little 3yo grandson in a buddy seat behind her. I was leading Sal, as we had walked about 1/2 mile from the barn with my 1 yo great dane, Jackson beside us. Suddenly, Jackson rushed into the brush beside the road and out came a very flustered momma turkey and her 2 little babies..all going in different directions with Jackson spinning, not knowing who to chase first. Sal stopped and stood quietly on a loose lead until the chaos subsided. Nancy and Christopher were a bit startled but because Sal was calm, it was all ok. We continued our ride and Christopher lead Sal and his Grammy all the way back to the barn.
